If you are saying that she was only taken because they left her alone that night and that had they stayed in with her she would not have been taken , then I think we need to think this through a bit more.
So that night in the resort an opportunist Paedophile just happened to be walking past the McCann's apartment when he saw an opportunity to snatch a young child, isn't it more likely they were deliberately targeted and Madeleine would have been snatched at some point regardless of the actions of that night. So the McCann's never stood a chance as they had no idea she was in danger and at some point they would have found an opportunity to get her.
