Interesting theory. It is worth considering, Hazel doesn't lack intelligence and at the moment the game she is playing doesn't make any sense, as she must realise it would make her a hate figure?? and that conversation about looking for somewhere to live was really weird and came out of seemingly nowhere, and it would explain her "frustration" conversation as well.
