TBF tho The Twins have pretty much told Dexter to his face what they think of him, and I think that's partly the reason why they are not liked, their self satisfying smugness that their opinions on Dexter would be shared by the public and that they were some kind of self righteous champions against Dexter has backfired on them, they thought by being overly honest to him and telling him they hate him and want him out would be cheered by the public.
