I've just found out that Clay is actually based on this (
http://www.lettersofnote.com/2013/02...l-my-love.html) letter. If you listen to the lyrics, it backs it up because they do correspond with certain passages from the letter. It's kinda sad and lovely at the same time.
Alison did say that all the songs are based around a person, hence all the song titles being actual names.
