I don't think Dan should feel cheated. This is not the first time someone has be voted out by the public without being nominated by their housemates and it won't be the last. If Dan's fan base was strong enough they would have voted out one of the others who was up for eviction as well. More people disliked Dan's presence in the house than the other two that were up and that is it.
