Yes the atmosphere is too negative. The moments of joy are not good enough as there are no real friendships in there. In most seasons there are real friendships that are made so when they talk together I'm happy to listen to their conversations. Here it just seems so pointless, insincere and calculated. In season 5 the house guests were at war which made the happy times so so sweet. Perhaps it was poor casting this time around.
