To be fair to Dexter, as the numbers dwindle, there are fewer he is close to now in there, probably only Gina and Charlie. And I think both Dexter and Charlie know they will be no more than friends, so why not enjoy their time in there as friends.
But yeah, Charlie is lacking a bit of a personality, and is too much of a yes/no person rather than her own person, that is where she falls down and why she probably has fewer fans than the others left in there. She survives by tending to hang on to Dexter's coattails.
When it came down to Hazel and Charlie, I was actually holding on to the hope that Charlie got evicted.
