There were no real "lies".
Sam just too stubborn to see thing any other way than his own.

Here's what happened...
Dex said Sam told him not to speak to him.
Sam made a mountain out of a molehill pointing out he said "Don't feel the need to speak to me".

Boils down to the same thing.
i.e. Sam was in grumpy mood questioning his motivation and thinking the worst of Dex.

And worst of all, he never recognized the point Dex made.
He simply took the huff and lost his rag when Dex won the argument.
