Oh come on. It is as clear as day that Charlie doesn't fancy Dexter - you can't will it to happen and why you want to is beyond me. She clearly made a concerted effort not to hurt his feelings - but made her feelings crystal clear.
Why do some people have to read romance into every friendly gesture?
Muddying the waters like that just leads to people like Dexter getting their hopes up, which in turn will lead to disaster.
