Default 'Toy Stories'...

..LemonJames sent me these quite a while ago and I find them extremely thought provoking and very powerful but have never really known which thread to post them in so I thought I'd just make a new thread for them...

What was your favorite toy as a child? In Gabriele Galimberti’s wonderful series Toy Stories, which we recently spotted over at Feature Shoot, the Italian photographer travelled the world to photograph children with their most prized possessions, be they pink or blue, new or old, plentiful or scarce. The resulting photo series is in turns haunting and funny, but Galimberti’s reports from the field are equally interesting. “The richest children were more possessive. At the beginning, they wouldn’t want me to touch their toys, and I would need more time before they would let me play with them,” Galimberti says. “In poor countries, it was much easier. Even if they only had two or three toys, they didn’t really care. In Africa, the kids would mostly play with their friends outside.” ....
