The sad thing about Lauren is that she is in sexual limbo. She is neither a man or a woman. If she had stayed as a male, at least she could have had homosexual relationships. (I am assuming he was gay before the penisectomy).
It is tragic that people are not counselled more thoroughly before the op because there are very very few men who do actually look like women afterwards. We have all done the nudge nudge stuff about 'iffy' women in the past, I am sure.
