It depends on your perception of matters. Some people are happy with the mp3 format. Some wouldn't touch them with a bargepole. Some prefer losless flac as it is superior due to the bit rate. Others think vinyl offers the best listening format. Remastering can offer issues on cds that have been ripped from vinyl though rather than the master tapes. I think a lot has to do with your equipment at the end of the day. It's hardly going to affect people who listen on their ipods. I think SACDs have been far too expensive and if this format is marketed at a reasonable price then it could do quite well as long as a decent selection is made available. That's the trouble half the time. Minidisc never survived, for example, as no proper investment was made in it by the music industry.
