Default Square Enix sets up 'Final Fantasy Committee' to improve franchise quality

Quote:

Final Fantasy studio Square Enix has founded a task force to oversee the ongoing quality of the RPG series.

The 'Final Fantasy Committee' consists of a group of high-profile developers who will assume control of the creative direction of the franchise.

The committee will consist of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn director Naoki Yoshida, Final Fantasy Type-0 boss Hajime Tabata, Final Fantasy XIII head Motomu Toriyama, and Final Fantasy VII director Yoshinori Kitase.

Veteran character designer and creative producer Tetsuya Nomura is either not involved in the venture, or is attached in a limited capacity, according to FF-Reunion.

Square Enix has confirmed the existence of the committee and has promised to deliver "more information shortly".

The next core entry in the series, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, will be released for Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2014.

Fantastic idea, IMO, this is long overdue. Plus it's very good to see Yoshida in the team, as his work on A Realm Reborn was fantastic.
