Default White (and black) male seeks bitch

From The Metro

There can't be many dating websites where males seek a bitch to breed with and can even ask for a companion from a different species.

But online doggy-dating agency dogstogether.com does just that, setting up dogs with potential mates for breeding, or with new human owners.

Just like similar sites for humans, dogs can find their perfect match by browsing online profiles of suitable partners.

For instance, two-year-old Brandy from North Yorkshire, a pedigree lhasa apso seeking a human, has 'cream' hair, a good sense of humour 'with humans of any size', and claims to be bilingual (English and Dogish).

The website's creator, Liz Tattersall, 62, also from North Yorkshire, came up with the idea after her son Tony bought a mongrel named Bertie.

She said: 'I fell in love with him immediately. But we both recognised there could be problems finding him a mate in such a small area.'

The site, which started in January, also allows owners to get in touch to organise group walks or chat online, for a one-off £10 fee.

Mrs Tattersall added: 'We'll be keeping a close eye on everything to make sure everyone using the site is genuine and that nothing unpleasant is entered by jokers.'

Whatever will they think of next?
