Well the others seem to have voted for Jim and Liz en masse because they're easy targets and it's safer to nominate how everyone else is nominating because there's less chance of a retaliation nomination. Jim's reasons for voting Sam were perfectly valid - he said you wouldn't notice if she wasn't there, and it's completely true, the girl has sat there in near silence the entire time she's been in there. Why was she so offended by that? Why were any of them so offended by that? He didn't say anything nasty about her.
I don't think Jim and Liz were in cahoots at all. I think Jim voted Sam because he's not really that arsed about voting for Linda and really just wants to be out of the house, he didn't want to pit himself against Linda in an eviction because of the added tension that would bring and he knew that he and Liz would doubtless be up and he probably figured that whoever he and Liz nominated would likely go up for eviction with them so he nominated Luisa and Sam. Liz voted for Sam because she wants to leave the house and she saw that Jim and Sam were the two most popular people in the last vote.
