Here's why I don't like Linda: I don't like people who launch foul mouthed confrontational rants at people rather than being willing to work out problems. I don't like people who bitch loudly about people they don't like. I don't like people who whinge constantly. I don't like people who hold grudges and are spiteful towards people they don't like. I don't like people who are so arrogant that they think they're right all the time, and never apologise for anything. If they don't display any other qualities which are particularly attractive or interesting, then there's no point in having them around.
Linda's favourite accusation is that Jim is mysogynistic. Many men of his generation make similar comments, and their loved ones might be watching the show, imagining them being treated like Jim. She also castigates him for making snide comments and walking away like a coward rather than standing up to her. I rather admire Jim for keeping his cool. Along with his flaws and assets, he is a very interesting personality with a lot of life history and experience under his belt and he makes me laugh at times.
Maybe the British public feel like me. The conflict is forcing people in the house to take sides, and outside the house all the debate is polarising opinion, with the majority of viewers backing Jim. Many viewers, like me, didn't know much about Jim before the show - so they're judging by what they see and not by his reputation.
I haven't voted for Jim, but I am just giving my opinion.
