We sung Gloria all the time. People would mumble whilst singing but do the clapping part in the chorus uber loud

gloria CLAP CLAP gloria CLAP CLAP in excelsis deo

The only other song I can remember was part of the chorus which went, "follow me follow me leave your home and family leave your fishing nets and boats upon the shore". That's probably the only lyrics I knew back then too I always hated hym practice. Every Wednesday afternoon we had to sing them in the hall for an hour with the devil year 6 teacher on the piano and waving her hands around the air pretending she knew how to be a conductor. Nightmare.
