I do think this is unnecessary,for me if it is a breeding thing why allow this Giraffe and others to be born in the first place.
These Giraffes were/are I understand 18 months to 2 years old.
As to the dissection of them publicly,I am all against that.


I also have to agree with Lostalex as well, I think zoo's do get a great deal wrong and are certainly not about the wellbeing of the animals they have.
Perhaps some really strong tightening up of zoo's practices needs to be done internationally.

Sadly as that is unlikely to happen then awful and sad situations like this will continue in some places.
Not however a good advert for zoos in my opinion.
