No it doesn't, and this is completely irrelevant. Dogs are unpredictable, and the fact that it doesn't usually end in any sort of problem simply does not justify the RISK - no matter how small that risk is. It happens. No one "needs" a dog, and the enjoyment of a family pet is not worth it by any stretch.

I fear that people are simply too attached to these animals, to be honest. Like I said - we humanize them, fool ourselves into thinking that they "love" us, and so we can't bear to say "its just a dog. If you're having a baby, don't have a dog for a few years."
