its because he doesn't ass kiss which you have to do to with the oscars its part of the thing where they have to grease sweaty palms. its all very strange. and his roles are not the normal hollywood dribble.
like scorsese he goes against the norm.
he will win. i cant begrudge mathew he deserved it,
