After Fire, the Wheel, TV the Internet is one of the most important inventions of all time.
It has done and will continue to revolutionise the world we live in today, for good mostly (and some bad) it's effects connot be overstated, it has literally changed the World we live in and changed the way we live.
It's effects are everywhere the most important legacy I feel it has is to allow the instant sharing of Knowledge this in turn drives our understanding of the World forward on all fronts allowing research and development to move forward far more quickly than pre-internet times.
From research into drugs, disease, genetics, weather, physics,.....the list is endless the Internet is allowing Mankinds progress to increase at a much faster rate than ever thought possible.
And boy we are going to need this in the coming decades as we struggle with Famine, water shortages, pestilence, Global Warming, Freak Weather, poverty, energy shortages, Peak Oil, rising CO2 levels etc...
