I'm hoping she's just "retiring" in the way Jay-Z and Cher "retired"... in other words, she's taking a year off and then she'll be back for season's 6-10.
Or... maybe she's just angling for more money now that she's got a new contract to sign... she wants them to think she's not interested in continuing so she can ask for more money. typical hollywood politics.
