it's not vain/attention seeky at all
everyone's kinda 'pressured' to take a selfie nowadays for Facebook/twitter etc, this just sounds like a person who's desperately unhappy with his appearance struggling to find a picture he can deem acceptable. Taking 200 photos isn't the same thing as uploading 200 photos, and that is definitely vain. I doubt this person shares a lot of pictures of himself online
