To be serious for a moment; there will likely never be a time when toys (or... anything, really) will be gender neutral. It's a marketing thing. Too many companies revolve around being on either side of the gender gap. Magazines, toys, literature, grooming products, clothes... it's a utopian ideal that will never be achieved which is why it's so appealing to 'deconstruct' because it'll never actually happen.
