The family of gym owner Kal Nazir is now complete following the casting of his mother and teenage son.
Kal, played by Jimi Mistry, has already been joined on screen by his father Sharif - actor Marc Anwar and Sair Khan was cast last month as wayward daughter Alya.
Now the Nazirs will be joined by Shelley King as Kal’s mum Yasmeen and ‘Shameless’ actor Qasim Akhtar as teenage son Zeedan.
Alya will be seen on screen next month closely followed by Yasmeen and then Zeedan later in the summer.
Single dad Kal will have his hands full juggling the demands of his extended family who are set to cause him problems as he tries to start a relationship with Leanne.
Shelley King is an Indian born actress who is known for her roles in West End Musical Bombay Dreams, TV series Tandoori Nights and Angels and various theatre productions including work with the National Theatre, Tara Arts and Kali Theatre company.
Qasim Akhtar is best known for his portrayal of Chesney Karib in the Channel 4 series Shameless.
