I think the point of those ads though, is that the "copycat" brands are often as good as if not better than the big brand names but cost much less. With a big brand you pay a premium for the name when, in reality, the actual product isn't any better.
That said... The shampoo section at aldi cracks me up, just because you can see all of the copied brands together and it's so obvious... It has like "herbal essentials", "Ponton Pro V", "head and elbows"...
