It wasn't the fact that she confronted Marlon that got her respect. It was how whe handled the whole situation. She could have just gone around and talk crap about him behind his back but she had enough respect for him as a friend of hers to go to a private setting and tell him what she was offended about. She even sealed the conversation with a hug to show him that there are no hard feelings. I don't think Marlon's a bad guy I just think he made a really bad remark about her as a joke. If he's smart he'll reflect on it and probably give her more respect because of how she handled the situation with him.
