MUMBAI (Reuters) - Shilpa Shetty, the winner of reality television show "Celebrity Big Brother", will open a chain of Indian curry houses in Britain, a newspaper reported on Friday.
The Bollywood actress hit global headlines after she was bullied and insulted by some of the Big Brother housemates, triggering allegations of racial abuse.
Encouraged by her popularity in Britain, Shetty is also reported to be buying a house in an expensive north London neighbourhood as well as setting up the restaurants, the Mumbai Mirror said.
"The flagship restaurant will be at central London," the Mirror quoted Shetty's agent Farhath Hussain as saying. "The work is moving very swiftly and final details are being chalked out."
The curry chain will be called "Shilpa Shetty Dining Hall" and will have branches across the country.
The report said Shetty was approached by the Australian version of the Big Brother show, but she turned it down. "
"She has moved on in life and she would not like to repeat herself," Hussain said.
Shetty found herself in another controversy this week after an Indian court ordered the arrest of Hollywood star Richard Gere for kissing her on the cheeks at an anti-AIDS campaign, saying it was an obscene act committed in public.

This story, whereby, Shilpa Shetty is going to open a load of Indian Curry houses is a good advertisement campaign all round.
It is great for Shilpa and her agent, (Max Clifford) & all the Indian Curry houses too, which should make them all plenty of money.
It is not a very exciting story and most people would find it so un-interesting really. But it is happening and it has been reported.

The other interesting part of the story, which most members have probably missed, possibly??
That, Shilpa has turned down the generous offer from Australia's CBB, of Shilpa coming back and being a housemate over there.
I applaud Max Clifford for advising Shilpa very strongly, that this would not be a wise move. Especially as many people assumed that she was very badly attacked by racist English housemates in CBB Jan. here in England.
I don't think it would be advisable. Especially as it could cause a stir and much unrest from, normally, relaxed housemates in Australia's CBB, who would become less relaxed and more over-cautious, if they were faced against Shilpa Shetty.
Anyway, it is all over and now it is Indian Curry houses.
What lays beyond this new enterprise, we shall have to wait an see.
Shilpa is another ex-cbb-housemate who is making it big right now.
