I think the BB5 thing comes from needing to watch it at the time it aired in some aspects. I think that goes for the first 4 series too.

Watching them now when BB and reality TV in general has been done to death and gone in all directions kind of leaves you thinking "Big deal. So what?"

All of the series don't quite have the same impact too, when not watched live with all the accompanying live feeds, excitement, freshness and not knowing what's coming next etc.
