Yep, the explosion happened 240million years ago and emitted the light, and we only just recieved it a few days ago.

Really hard to imagine how that works, but its fascinating.

I love reading about space and things outside our world. The other day I read an article by NASA saying they are in a dilemma with the new proposed missions to Mars. Its a 3 year round trip to Mars, but they need to work out what to do if a) an astronaut becomes ill or life threating ill during the trip - they can't abort the mission really. and b) these men and women are healthy fit people... how will they 'cope' for 3 years in space without their partners etc (if you know what I mean! )
