Ask yourself why does Helen like Mark and not like Christopher? People gravitate towards people who are like themselves. That is why the nasty gang got together with each other and why the outsiders got together with each other. For a couple of weeks or so, there was a relative peace in the house. As soon as conflict began, the nasty gang and the outsiders divide returned.
