Yeah, I think somebody on another forum said they saw her running her own shop though? I do remember the story you're talking about though, where she was desperately trying to find work to help her roommate pay the rent and she spent her last bit of savings paying some bills but came home from a job interview to find the locks had been changed and her stuff was in bin bags in the hallway, poor Mary. She didn't even have money for a plane ticket to go back to Ireland
