I think George is playing it very canny... he KNOWS that his chat-up is corny in the extreme ("you're my first....etc...") and HE knows that WE know him for real from Gogglebox so we know he's not really a sleazeball so I reckon he is being really clever -- I assume you all also saw the quote he gave to James where he said "yeah well if she gets kicked out I'll just move on to someone else" -- so he is parodying the whole "showmance" thing with the offchance he might get lucky!!
