To me it's more a query as to why they dislike him - I still haven't quite got what's behind that - apart from the aggravation of having to speak clearly and loudly and be prepared to repeat yourself.

..I think the speaking more clearly etc and repeating themselves is a part of it and what they probably find irritating but I also think that Gary is a different 'type' of person/housemate to the 'norm' of either celebrity or civilian...not in a 'oh I'm a big Hollywood Star' type way..
...but just that through his life experiences, he can't be bothered to engage in the smaller stuff that housemates do just I guess because of the type of environment...like the little bitches/groans and gripes etc...you know, when people do that together and commonly agree on things, it's a bond forming of types and I think Gary takes himself off from all of that...I also think he likes to chat about 'deeper' things in general...whereas the others are more thinking in terms of 'the game/show' because they're just more aware in general of BB than he is....
