It's nothing to do with knowing when to stay quiet.... He IS arrogant and disrespectful...he does not know how to talk to people. It's probably down to the fact that he teaches. My sons old headmistress used to speak to the adults in the same way as she addressed the children. She couldn't differentiate between the two...and that's what James does...he talks to adults as though they are children/students and it's simply condescending. I might add I am not judging all teachers like that because 85% of teachers are smart enough to find the balance.
On top of this James thinks he is the dogs bollocks....always thinks he is right and loves controlling and being the centre of attention.
