Something tells me the cards are stacked against Americans. If Europe can pick a team from 27 countries, then America should also get to choose from the same 27 countries.
It makes no sense. it would be like Brazil having to compete against all of Asia. China, India, Japan, and all of the asian countries.

Its all about history. The first 22 Ryder Cup matches were Great Britain and Ireland against the United States. It was only from 1979 that Europe was included (mainly because it was a bit one sided!).
