Have to disagree with you there, if I gossiped about or disclosed details of a private conversation with a staff member that I manage at work and caused them embarrassment, I would apologise profusely to them, because on a personal level it's a crappy thing to do. Likewise if one of the company heads came in and did the same to me, I would fully expect an apology. And an extra weeks holiday
