Default Röyksopp announce final album (new song 'Skulls')

Quote:
Röyksopp have announced a new album called The Inevitable End, which is due out November 11 via Cherrytree/Interscope. The follow-up to the Norwegian duo's recent collaborative EP with Robyn, Do It Again, is their first full-length since Senior in 2010. They've also shared a new track called "Skulls". Listen to it below.

This will be the final Röyksopp album, they say, though they still plan to release music in other formats. In a press release, Svein Berge and Torbjørn Brundtland explained:

Quote:
With The Inevitable End we've moved into a darker subject matter, with emphasis on the lyrical content. This candid approach feels very both personal, sincere and conclusive... With this album it became clear we wanted to make an album in a classical sense even if it's the last one we make... We feel like this is a goodbye to the traditional album format. In our consecutive run of albums, we have been able to say what we want to say and do what we want to do with the LP. We're not going to stop making music, but the album format as such, this is the last thing from us.
Robyn appears on two tracks on The Inevitable End. One is a rework of their Do It Again track "Monument". Watch the video for that rework below. Directed by Stian Andersen, it features performance and behind-the-scenes footage from this summer's Robyn/Röyksopp tour. The album also features the previously released Susanne Sundfør collaboration "Running to the Sea".
