I think it depends on the school itself whether it can be enjoyable or not. Just because someone is rubbish at basketball or netball doesn't mean they will be rubbish at high jump or something. If the school has limited PE sessions such as Football, Netball, Rounders and Rugby then I can understand why people dislike it but if they have widen subject areas like high jump, long jump, gym, dance, orienteering, golf, trampolining etc people can find their own area they enjoy. I think for the first few years it is important for kids to learn the basics being football and rugby for boys and netball and rounders for girls but as they develope they should be allowed to play what they want.
I think PE is very important because it is the only form of exercise some people get...some people play sports outside school but many don\t have access to facilities etc therefore need that regular hour exercise a week or twice a week. I believe that there IS a sport out there for everyone which they enjoy...being good at it doesn't really matter aslong as they enjoy it. If a wider range of subjects were put forward I am sure you would find one you enjoyed.
You will always get people who are "picked first" and if you are picked last or at that bottom end it can feel embarassing but you will get that time when its a quiz or something and the sporty types will be picked last also so it kind of evens itself out.
The only part I do agree with is the "sports kit" wearing shorts or little skirts in winter is pathetic and kids should be allowed to wear tracksuits/jogging pants etc aswell as jumpers as its freezing cold.
In most schools having girls doing "football" gets cringed at because its seen as a "boys sport" and schools which still have that attitude are pathetic...I'm not saying that girls would want to play rugby or boys would want to play netball but the options should still be there I think.
