Default Twin Peaks is coming back

Quote:
Twin Peaks is returning to television, it has been confirmed.

US cable channel Showtime has ordered nine new episodes, to air in 2016.

The new Twin Peaks will be a continuation of the original series, not a remake. Creators David Lynch and Mark Frost will co-write the entire season, with Lynch directing.

Lynch and Frost stirred up fan excitement on Friday (Oct 3) with a pair of tweets referencing the show.

Originally aired on ABC for two seasons from 1990-91, Twin Peaks starred Kyle MacLachlan as Dale Cooper - an FBI special agent investigating the murder of homecoming queen Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee).

The series won acclaim and developed a cult following for its performances, offbeat humour and surreal stylings.

A feature film spinoff Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me was released in 1992, serving as both a prequel and an epilogue to the TV show.
Hmm.
