X Factor’s Paul Akister is going uptempo on the show this week, while Stereo Kicks are set to slow it down.
It’s Week 3 of the live shows and it’s a night at the Movies for the latest theme.
With four acts having been booted out in just two shows, the competition is heating up and the pressure is on for the remaining acts.
The show’s creative director Brian Friedman today teased some of the performances we can expect from the contestants.
“Paul Akister is going to let loose this week. His performance will be more energetic and up-tempo, which we haven’t seen from him yet,” Brian said.
He went on: “Fleur East will be rapping, dancing and singing LOUDLY on the chorus.
“Stereo Kicks will potentially sing a capella and we’re going to try to mix up their staging.”
Brian also hit out at the show’s habit of turning big uptempo numbers into slow “suicidal” ballads.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper today: “We get a lot of ballads but I’d love to hear some that aren’t so depressing.
“There have been cases where songs about joy and happiness have been turned into songs that are suicidal.”
