They want the entire world to follow Their very extremist fundamentalist version of their religion(islam). They honestly want to rule the world.

It sounds insane, but they really do want that.

We are talking about a group of people who are led by very crazy, but intelligent people (many of them educated in the west) but most of the foot soldiers are tribal people who are illiterate, and who have the equivalent education of an american 3rd grader.
