Labour has admitted they got immigration wrong when in power, again with this coalition Govt, they have failed to achieve any of their targets as to immigration.

Immigration is such an explosive issue that it is one of those things that should be decided on a consensus route in politics.
David Cameron made a ridiculous pledge as to immigration in the 2010 election and one way it will never be set up to be acceptable and consistent in how it happens is to have the political parties using it to further themselves, rather than deal with it.

It needs all the likely governing parties to agree a policy and then have continuity to the policy implemented.
Not this blame game the aprties get into now, neither are better than the other as to immigration and also, it needs to be stopped from being made a dirty word by this present Govt. and the sickening media too.

I agree with what Lbaour are saying are saying as to the benefit controls for those coming to the UK and the time before they get them however that will need some support from the EU to set that up in full.
I also agree with the border controls Labour suggest too.

I felt the figure David Cameron was spouting off about in 2010,which was a vague tens of thousands figure, was likely too low and ill thought out.
He and this Govt he leads has failed miserably too as to their immigration policy and for that is just further evidence that it needs taking out of the polical arena and all heads in all parties work together on it as adults should be able to do.
