I think you will find that this will settle in quite neatly, and that it can only really go wrong if members make their choices in groups to abuse the system for tactical voting .I think it is also very important not to get too carried away with the negative karma.

That's true.
Especially with BB8 tomorrow, there's going to be a lot of debating, which could lead to agreements or disagreements. Then the Karma would come in.
