..you really gave it a good go and especially considering how unhappy it was making it and tried with the assignment, when some wouldn't have even done that, Jake so you should be proud of yourself...
..when you hand in your resignation on Monday, just say that you feel that you would like to leave as soon as possible as they already know it's making you unhappy and I doubt that they'll question it at all..because you've already spoken to them about it...
