I am in full support of 16 year olds being given the vote. I see no reason now at all why they should not.

I myself was highly political and interested in politics when I was 16, indeed from being even younger.
I didn't like being excluded from voting at 16 when I could then do a great deal of other things associated with being an adult.

However things change, when I was 16 I was a supporter of the Conservative party, now at 22,I am solid Labour for the 2015 election.
So then, I am pleased to hear that Ed Miliband will have Labour bring in votes for 16 year olds by 2016 if he wins in 2015.

I think the 16 year olds we heard in the Scottish referendum debate, showed young people can be activated as to politics and in fact for me they spoke more sense in those debates than even the professional politicians did most of the time.
