I like it being upstairs. The further away from the housemates, the better imo. I still remember a moment from BB7 when someone (maybe Nikki?) was in the DR, and Richard stood outside it with his ear pressed up against the door, nosey barsteward.
Of course, making the DR more "private" is redundant if they insist on continuing with the "making DR conversations public" bull****.
