Religion imo is just a way to attach an explanation to things that people don't understand.The more that we understand the less religion plays a part and the less of the religious texts are held as truth.Many religions died out thousands of years ago and new ones were born,Some religions hold the beliefs of previous religions they(ironically) evolve.Some people used religion to control but not all,That is not the fault of the religion itself but of people.If in the highly unlikely event that one day we understand everything of our existence before our species becomes extinct then there will be no need for religion and it will die out.I see no harm in religion as long as every word is not taken literally.If people want to believe in it then let them as long as it is used for good and not twisted into a device to cause suffering and pain.I don't 'have faith' but don't deny anybodies right to believe what they want.To me it is just stories(fascinating ones) but that's just me.
