That's true, but Perez was more than happy to be Ken's friend, and pass on what the others were saying about him, earlier that day. That makes me suspicious of whether he ever said anything homophobic. Even if he did, Perez didn't seem to have a problem with it until they were arguing.
Daran Little, a gay former writer for Coronation Street, rejected the suggestion that Ken is homophobic.
He probably made another dodgy comment (similar to his "negro" comment to Alexander) not necessarily meant as an insult. Regardless, the way Perez just brought it up in the middle of an argument doesn't sit right with me.
