wait, so her being annoyed that someone was STEALING FOOD from the house, makes her a bad person? and dingbat is a very benign insult. my parents called me a dingbat whenever i did something silly./ it's not very insulting at all, if anything it showed that she was giving her the benefit of the doubt, that she was just being a dingbat, doing something dumb, as opposed to doing something truly malicious. Its not like she called her a stupid slut, or a thief(which she was) or anything like that.
dingbat just means someone that does something dumb.
